Prioritizing Our Partners: A Look at Frequence's Client Success Team

From large media companies to local advertising agencies, the Frequence Client Success Team is focused on helping our partners make the most of the Frequence platform. We spoke with Kala Koch, Client Success Manager, about her role, the CSM team, and what makes Frequence unique.

What drew you to Frequence?

I started out selling digital advertising in the television broadcast industry about 10 years ago leveraging multiple digital vendors, then later moved to the outdoor industry where I was first introduced to the Frequence platform. I was immediately drawn to the usability and seamless workflow of the platform, which allowed me to spend less time building proposals and more time talking with clients about their digital strategy. Frequence gave me a newfound sense of confidence in my digital execution, not only because of the platform’s usability but also due to the support I was given from the Frequence team. That confidence ultimately evolved into a great level of respect for the company and I knew I had to be a part of it some day.

Tell us about your career journey at Frequence.

They say if you're the smartest person in the room, you need to find a different room. I've never stopped learning at Frequence and I am always feeling challenged by working with a lot of people who are smarter than me! While the main focus of my role is to support my clients with digital sales strategy and platform support, the company also allows me to collaborate with other teams like UX design and marketing. Frequence encourages the strengths and passions of their employees and empowers them to use those strengths for the greater good of the company, even if it’s unconventional or outside of the job description. Due to that level of trust and support I have learned and grown so much with the company in my 4 years here!

Tell us about a favorite project.

I can’t pick one, but my favorite projects at Frequence usually involve big wins either in the sales force or on the platform. I really enjoy taking our products and finding ways to position them, then teaching those strategies to my clients, who then get to share those ideas with their advertisers. Digital advertising is a competitive industry so when I’m successful at helping others achieve their goals, that is the biggest reward. I also enjoy working with our product team on improving the user experience of our product, as it will ultimately better support my clients and that’s always the goal. I just enjoy what’s in the job title - helping our clients be successful! 

What’s the one thing you’d want a potential Frequence partner to know about our CSM team?

Our CSM team is made up of experienced, hard working, dedicated and supportive CSMs who not only think strategically for our partners, but truly care about them and their success. I think our partners are originally drawn to Frequence because of the platform but they stay with us because of the support. The success of our clients is of the utmost importance to all teams within the company. The Mayo Clinic (which is near to me in Rochester, MN) is founded on the value statement, The needs of the patient come first. At Frequence we subscribe to similar values of caring for our partners above all else, which I believe is one of the main reasons Frequence continues to grow and develop successful partnerships.

What are your hobbies / pastimes outside of work? 

My husband and I have two boys, 7 and 4, and we live in Minnesota along the Mississippi River valley where there's always recreation and adventure. We love to be outside, whether it’s playing golf, basketball, fishing or ice fishing. I love painting, playing piano and sand volleyball in the summer. Our small, beautiful community is important to us, so I love to volunteer for our Parent Teacher Organization at our local school as well!
